2022 Harley-Davidson Street Glide vs. Road Glide Summary
The Harley-Davidson Street Glide and Harley-Davidson Road Glide are both powerful touring bikes. They share the Milwaukee-Eight® 107 engine, which provides a pavement-scorching 111 pound-feet of torque. They also both offer the Boom!™ Box 4.3 twin-speaker sound system, smartphone integration, standard anti-lock brakes, and the optional Reflex™ Defensive Rider System (RDRS).
The main difference between the H-D Street Glide and Road Glide is the fairing. The Street Glide has a batwing fairing, a classic Harley-Davidson design, mounted to the forks. The Road Glide, on the other hand, has a sharknose fairing that’s frame-mounted, and the handlebars and forks turn within the frame. Is one of these better than the other? No — but they’re undoubtedly different, and most riders prefer one or the other. The Street Glide with its fork-mounted fairing is a more traditional and intuitive layout, while the aerodynamic fairing of the Road Glide transfers wind buffeting forces to the frame rather than the handlebars, reducing rider fatigue.
